Ana Sabiote is the new head of legal at Ouigo España
As Iberian Lawyer can exclusively antecipate, Ana Sabiote (pictured) has been appointed head of legal and regulatory affairs at Ouigo España, to become effective on 30 June.
Sabiote served as partner in KPMG Abogados’ Regulatory, Administrative and Competition practice, where she also headed the Defence area. She joined the firm in 2025 after more than 16 years at Uría Menéndez, where she built her career within the public law and environmental departments and was appointed counsel in 2021.
Throughout her career, she has advised major national and international clients on public procurement, public-private partnerships, infrastructure and regulated sectors, with particular expertise in transport, energy and administrative law. She is also understood to have extensive experience in railway regulation and liberalisation matters, advising clients on the evolving regulatory framework governing rail operators in Spain. She holds a degree in Law and International Relations from ICADE and a degree in Political Science from the same university.
Sabiote is succeeding Patricia Miranda Villar, who recently joined SNCF Voyages Italia as director of legal affairs, regulation and compliance (here the news).
“I am closing a chapter at KPMG Abogados — a brief one, but an extremely enriching experience. I have been surrounded by a team of outstanding professionals and had the opportunity to be part of, and to lead, top-tier projects”, says Ana Sabiote. “I am now entering a new stage with the same enthusiasm with which I approached previous ones, in an exciting sector full of major challenges, continuing to support OUIGO from within as it expands rail transport with safety, rigour and reliability. I feel very fortunate for the opportunity I had at KPMG Abogados and for the one now offered to me by OUIGO, a company where I hope to keep growing and contributing to its development”, she commented to Iberian Lawyer.
