Sérvulo hires new M&A partner and senior associate
Sérvulo & Associados has strengthened its corporate and M&A department with two lateral hires from Cuatrecasas: Alexandra M. Martins, who joins as partner, and Mariana Brazão, who joins as senior associate.
Alexandra M. Martins brings nearly 20 years of experience in M&A, having been involved in major domestic and cross-border transactions as well as privatisation processes. She joined Cuatrecasas as partner in 2023. Her practice has focused on advising national and multinational clients across sectors including fast-moving consumer goods, agri-food, healthcare, telecommunications, media, concessions, and infrastructure. She holds a law degree from the University of Coimbra and an Advanced Master’s in International Business Law from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
Mariana Brazão brings over eight years of experience in corporate and M&A matters, with a focus on clients in the food and beverage, agri-food, healthcare, and tourism sectors. She previously served as a guest assistant professor at the University of Lisbon, where she also obtained her law degree. She holds a postgraduate qualification in Insolvency Law.
Pedro Silveira Borges, partner and head of the corporate and M&A department at Sérvulo, noted that the addition of both lawyers consolidates the team’s capacity to handle high-complexity transactions, reinforcing its seniority, specialisation, and technical depth. He added that their experience and track records “will be instrumental in driving the firm’s growth and strengthening its position in the M&A market, enabling Sérvulo to continue supporting the most significant operations in Portugal with a client-oriented approach”.
