GA_P advises Engie on Andalusia battery storage deal
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised Engie on the acquisition of two battery energy storage projects in Andalusia, developed by Rolwind Renovables.
The projects, located in Palmosilla (Cádiz) and Cerrillo (Málaga), have a combined capacity of approximately 278 MW and 1,112 MWh, making them among the largest standalone energy storage developments in Spain.
The transaction comes amid the growing development of energy storage in Spain, a key technology for the integration of renewable energy and the stability of the electricity system.

The Gómez-Acebo & Pombo team was led by Verónica Romaní, partner, and Diego Martínez Colino, partner, with the participation of Laura Rey, Marta Gil, Beltrán García, Álvaro Obregón, Teresa Sagardoy, Patricia Medina, Vanessa Fernández and Marta Casilda Martínez-Almeida.
The transaction was carried out in coordination with Engie’s in-house legal team, led by Aleix Fernández De Vinzenzi and Laura Cuesta.
