Pinsent Masons appoints Leticia Sitges as legal director in energy
Pinsent Masons has appointed Leticia Sitges as legal director in its energy team in Madrid, led by Hermenegildo Altozano.
Leticia specialises in public and regulatory law and has in-depth expertise in regulated sectors such as energy, environment and mining. Prior to joining Pinsent Masons, she served as head of the public and regulatory law practice at Andersen, and before that began her career with more than 11 years in the regulatory department of Latham & Watkins.
Throughout her career, she has regularly advised on corporate transactions with a strong regulatory component, with a particular focus on the energy sector. Her experience includes regulatory risk analysis in due diligence processes, as well as advising on the negotiation of insurance policies aimed at covering regulatory risks identified in such transactions. She also has a solid track record in the analysis of complex environmental contingencies, including matters related to soil and groundwater contamination, bringing a technical and strategic approach to particularly demanding regulatory contexts.
Commenting on the appointment, Hermenegildo Altozano said: “Leticia’s arrival represents a key reinforcement for our Energy practice in Spain. Her deep knowledge of the Spanish regulatory framework and her experience in complex sector transactions bring significant value to our clients in an increasingly sophisticated and evolving regulatory environment.”
