Linklaters advises Ares Management on retail park acquisition

Linklaters Spain has advised Ares Management on the acquisition of the Janer retail park, located in Cádiz, from Dutch developer Ten Brinke.

The asset offers close to 15,000 square metres of gross lettable area and is located on the site of the former Janer naval school. The complex hosts a diversified retail mix including food, dining, fashion, home and fitness operators, with brands such as Mercadona, McDonald’s and Viva Gym, among others. Ares Management has recently stepped up its activity in this segment, having announced the acquisition of Castellana Properties’ portfolio of retail warehouses for €279 million.

The transaction was led by a multidisciplinary team from Linklaters Spain, with tax advice provided by Alejandro Meca, Carlos Olmedo and Javier Rodríguez, while the real estate aspects were handled by Adolfo Guerrero, Santiago Alfonsetti and Javier Galindo.
