EY Abogados grows 9%, reaching €233M in revenue in Spain
EY Spain closed fiscal year 2025 with revenue of €921.6 million, representing year-on-year growth of 8.7%, in line with the firm’s performance in previous years, according to accounts filed with the Commercial Registry. Within this overall performance, EY Abogados posted revenue of €233.1 million, recording 9% growth and consolidating its position as one of the key drivers of the firm’s expansion in Spain, states the firm. Total revenue rises to €1.11 billion when intragroup turnover is included, amounting to €189.1 million in FY2025.
The firm grew across all its key metrics, including headcount, which increased by 6% to 1,282 people, of whom 1,181 are lawyers or fee earners. As for the number of partners, the firm now has 107, 38 of whom are women. Of these, 61 are equity partners and 46 are salaried partners.
Zunzunegui’s leadership
At the end of October, Adolfo Zunzunegui (pictured) took over the leadership of EY Abogados and, since then, the firm has been working to lay the foundations for a new phase aimed at leading—rather than merely adapting to—the profound transformation underway in the legal sector. This transformation is driven by the impact of technology, new talent expectations, changes in the geopolitical and regulatory environment, the transformation of clients, and the entry of new players.
In the words of Adolfo Zunzunegui, managing partner of EY Abogados, “our commitment is clear: to lead change. We are going to combine sustained growth with applied innovation, technical excellence and a genuine culture of collaboration with the rest of EY’s services to generate greater value and a better experience for our clients. To achieve this, we have set ourselves the goal of reaching €350 million in revenue and strengthening the team to 1,400 professionals and 150 partners.”
All of EY’s service lines in Spain reported increased turnover. EY Consulting generated €306.1 million, up 12.4% compared with 2024, while EY Assurance reached €276.4 million, an increase of 5.1%. EY-Parthenon posted revenue of €106 million, representing growth of 7.3%.
Federico Linares, chairman of EY Spain, said the results “are a source of pride, as they reflect the ambition and shared commitment of all the partners and professionals who make up the firm, as well as our purpose of creating client, people, financial and social value, all at the same strategic level.”
The results mark the close of a transformational year for EY Spain, during which the firm began implementing its FY25–FY27 Strategic Plan, EY Revolution. As part of this strategy, EY is progressing with the development of EY Campus, a new working model that will be rolled out in its Madrid office, adding 11 floors in the building at 2 Calle Orense to its existing space in Torre Titania.
In parallel, the firm has evolved its organisational model, complementing its four service lines with a redesigned sector-focused approach, appointing new partner leads across 11 industry sectors.
