Eversheds Sutherland advises Superhuman on startup acquisition

Eversheds Sutherland has advised San Francisco–based Superhuman on the acquisition of Rows, a Porto-based startup that developed an AI-powered spreadsheet platform. Rows has developed solutions that simplify advanced data work through real-time integrations, no-code natural language automations, and an AI-based data analyst integrated into the user experience.

The transaction aims at strengthening Superhuman’s strategy—known for products such as Grammarly and Coda—of building an AI-driven productivity platform for applications and agents, while accelerating its product roadmap and consolidating its engineering and innovation team.

The transaction was led by partner David Smith (Frankfurt) and senior associate Joana Pinhal (Porto), pictured. In Portugal, the team also included partners Marta Afonso Pereira (Lisbon), Diogo Bernardo Monteiro (Lisbon), João Osório de Castro (Lisbon) and João Rocha de Almeida (Porto), principal associate Bruno Ferreira Domingues (Lisbon), and associate Catarina Valente (Porto).
