Garrigues, Cuatrecasas, and Uría Menéndez, the only Spanish firms in the Global 200 ranking

Law.com has published its Global 200 for 2025, a ranking of the 200 law firms with the highest revenues worldwide. But how many of these firms have a presence in Spain? And how many are Spanish?

The answer is 30. That is 15% of all the law firms on the Global 200 list. Among them, the only Spanish firms are Garrigues, Cuatrecasas, and Uría Menéndez. In first place, the firm led by Fernando Vives ranks 128th with $521.36 million. The firm has 1,457 lawyers and an average revenue per lawyer of $358,000. In second place is Cuatrecasas, led by Javier Fontcuberta, in 140th place, with $471.86 million. It has a total of 1,347 lawyers, with an average income of $350,000. And finally, Uría Menéndez, led by Salvador Sánchez-Terán, ranks 188th. It has revenues of $319.70 million and 689 lawyers (average income per lawyer of $464,000).

The other firms in the ranking with offices in Spain are: Latham & Watkins, ranked 2nd, generating revenues of $7 billion with 3,584 lawyers and revenues per lawyer (RPL) of $1.953 million; DLA Piper (3), with $4.2 billion in revenue generated by 4,827 lawyers and $878,000 RPL; and A&O Shearman (4), with a turnover of $3.7 billion, more than 3,100 lawyers, and $1.194 billion RPL. Also noteworthy are Baker McKenzie (9), which generates revenues of $3.395 billion with nearly 4,600 lawyers and RPL of €739,000, and White & Case (10), with revenues of $3.3 billion, a team of 2,598 lawyers, and RPL of $1.3 million.

The list is completed by other international firms such as Clifford Chance (12), Freshfields (14), Linklaters (14), Hogan Lovells (15), Jones Day (17), Dentons (18), Davis Polk & Wardwell (21), CMS (26), Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (37), Eversheds Sutherland (39), Squire Patton Boggs (50), Ashurst (53), Clyde & Co (66), Pinsent Masons (76), Simmons & Simmons (84), Bird & Bird (91), Addleshaw Goddard (97), Dwf (116), Osborne Clarke (117), Kennedys (122), Fieldfisher (136), and Watson Farley Williams (191).
