Uría Menéndez advises on the sale of Grupo Mediterránea de Catering to Sodexo

Uría Menéndez has advised Portobello Capital on the sale of Grupo Mediterránea de Catering to Sodexo, a French listed company.

Grupo Mediterránea de Catering is a leading provider of catering and facility management services in Spain, with a presence in Spain, Portugal and Latin America. Furthermore, since Portobello Capital became an investor in 2009, the group’s turnover has increased fivefold, according to Luis Peñarrocha, founding partner of Portobello Capital.

With this acquisition, Sodexo will double its presence and become one of the leaders in the catering services market in Spain, strengthening its position in key segments, especially in services to businesses, healthcare and education.

The team consisted of Christian Hoedl (partner, M&A-Private Equity), Clara Muñoz (senior associate, M&A-Private Equity), Inés Alfaro (associate, M&A-Private Equity) and Fedir Ragulin (trainee lawyer, M&A-Private Equity).
