Plenitude begins construction of a new 200 MW solar plant in Seville: Advisors
Plenitude has taken a new step in its renewable energy expansion strategy in Spain with the start of construction on the Entrenúcleos photovoltaic project, a 200 MW plant located in the Seville municipalities of Dos Hermanas and Coria del Río.
The project will have some 326,000 solar panels distributed across four facilities – Granville, Killington, Plumlee and Rickwood – each with a capacity of 50 MWp, occupying more than 300 hectares. It is expected to come online in 2026 and will generate more than 435 GWh per year, enough to supply thousands of homes with clean energy.
The connection to the electricity grid will be made through the SET Entrenúcleos substation, shared with another developer, and linked to the national grid through the Red Eléctrica Española substation in Dos Hermanas.
The construction has been awarded to the Spanish company Solarig, which will incorporate green steel structures, a recycled material produced nationally with a zero carbon footprint. The project also includes environmental integration measures such as vegetation barriers and sustainable agricultural initiatives aimed at the conservation of endangered steppe birds.
Entrenúcleos is the third plant that Plenitude is building in Andalusia, adding to the 230 MW in Guillena (Seville) and the 150 MW in Caparacena (Granada). The company thus reaffirms its commitment to a region where it already has more than 60,000 retail customers.
In total, Plenitude operates in Spain with around 1,300 MW of installed capacity between solar and wind power, and has a portfolio under development of more than 2 GW spread across communities such as Extremadura, Galicia, La Rioja, Catalonia, Castile-La Mancha and Castile and León.
