Elzaburu’s revenues in 2024 reach 27.2 million euros
Elzaburu has achieved revenues of 27.2 million euros in the year in which it celebrates its 160th anniversary, 6.5% more than in the previous year.
According to Alfonso Diez de Rivera Elzaburu, president of the firm, “during the past year we continued our growth in the traditional trademark business, with the trust of top-level clients, and we consolidated our presence in all areas of intangible protection. In patents, we have strengthened our specialization in software and innovative technology, and in Media & Entertainment we have recorded exceptional growth, reflecting our commitment to this sector”.
Geographical distribution
80.3% of the turnover has been obtained in Europe; 14.4% in America and 5.3% in the rest of the world. On the other hand, the firm’s client portfolio includes 40% of the IBEX 35 companies and a similar proportion of the 50 largest companies in the Fortune 500.
By areas
Turnover in the Trademarks area grew by 10.9%; in Legal, by 4.8% and in Patents, by 1.9%. To be more precise, Trademarks accounted for 44.9% of turnover; Patents, 38% and Legal, 16.3%. It is worth highlighting the significant growth in the Media and Entertainment area, which advised on more than 320 audiovisual and performing arts projects, a 45.5% increase, with budgets of more than 120 million euros.
Intellectual and Industrial Property
Elzaburu manages more than 60,000 trademarks, 3,200 patents, 1,500 designs and 200 plant varieties with a total of more than 75,000 active files. In addition, during the last 10 years the firm has participated in the valuation of intangible assets worth more than 1,000 million euros. Its litigation area has handled more than 120 industrial and intellectual property lawsuits in the last year, accumulating more than 1,500 since its foundation. For its part, the anti-counterfeiting area, through police and customs operations, has seized more than one million counterfeit products.
Talent
Elzaburu has a team of 155 people; 45 of whom are lawyers and 14 are technicians. The 77% of the staff is made up of women and the female quota among the 13 partners of the firm is 30%, one of the highest in the sector. Precisely this year, ICAM awarded Elzaburu the Seal of Good Practice in Equality.
The firm has 10 European patent agents, 13 European trademark agents, 15 IP agents and 3 WIPO arbitrators and works with the four largest national patent applicants, as well as with several of the Spanish applicants for European patents.
