The “ICAM Museum” is born

The headquarters of ICAM at 9 Serrano Street will house a historical museum to preserve and exhibit the cultural and professional legacy of the Madrid legal profession. This was announced today by the Madrid Bar Association, which has appealed to all its members to contribute to enrich the museum’s heritage by donating historical objects related to the practice of the profession.

The museum, which will be housed on the second floor of the collegiate building, will have a collection of historical objects such as robes, caps, badges and other items representative of legal activity. The aim is to offer a journey through the evolution of the profession, serving both as an inspiration for today’s lawyers and as a source of knowledge for future generations.

“The creation of this museum is a long-awaited milestone. The ICAM Museum will honor those who have gone before us and preserve the legacy that so many lawyers have built over the centuries. But this project is not only a window into the past; it is a tool to inspire present and future generations,” explains the Dean of ICAM, Eugenio Ribón.

Donations from members

To enrich the museum’s collection, ICAM has launched a call to all its members, inviting them to donate objects of historical value related to the legal profession, as long as they are older than 1984. Donors, who will be registered as benefactors of the museum, will be able to deliver their contributions in person at the Library of the Bar Association during the established hours.

“The ICAM Museum is an opportunity for all members to contribute to preserve our collective memory. With their donations, they will help build a legacy that will be a source of pride and a beacon of inspiration for future generations,” concludes Ribón.
