Simmons & Simmons adds Daniel Vázquez to its Madrid office. After six years as a partner at Dentons Spain, Vázquez joins Simmons & Simmons to lead the Public, Regulatory and Environmental Law practice.

Daniel Vázquez
Daniel Vázquez, who holds a law degree from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, brings to Simmons & Simmons more than 25 years of professional experience in a wide range of areas, including public procurement, sanctioning proceedings, asset management, subsidies, infrastructure and regulated sectors. In addition, Vázquez advises national and international clients in a wide variety of sectors, ranging from energy and infrastructure to financial, chemical, automotive, mining and environmental.
His career is not only limited to advisory and litigation, but he has also been instrumental in supporting transactional teams in major asset sales and financings. Vázquez’s experience in due diligence, contractual negotiation and regulatory issues related to foreign investments, broadens and enriches Simmons & Simmons’ service offering to its clients.
Environmental Law
In the field of environmental law, the lawyer has advised in critical sectors, addressing regulations on industrial emissions, environmental impact assessment and circular economy, as well as emerging ESG issues. His involvement in development projects in the energy and mining sector, advising on sale and purchase transactions, financing and management of environmental liabilities, demonstrates and strengthens his commitment to sustainability and innovation.
