Squire advises on the acquisition of Helium Resources

Squire Patton Boggs has advised Helios Aragon on the acquisition of Helium Resources Limited (HRL), a British natural hydrogen and helium mining company.

Helios Aragon is a recognized leader in the European natural hydrogen industry and is the operator of the Monzon Natural Hydrogen Project in Spain. The Spanish project was declared of regional interest in 2023 by the Government of Aragon. The acquisition of HRL represents the continued implementation of a strategy to grow a quality global portfolio of natural hydrogen and helium projects. HRL has been actively exploring in the UK for several years and has identified a high potential exploitation pathway for both natural hydrogen and helium.

The Squire Patton Boggs Madrid team, comprising Ramón Castilla (partner), Antonio Bañón (head of public law and energy), and Laura Gómez (senior associate), has advised Helios on the acquisition of HRL and also on the international development of their respective natural hydrogen and helium projects.
