Uría Menéndez Advises Ferrovial on its Texas Acquisition

Ferrovial, a global leader in infrastructure development, marks a significant milestone with its inaugural venture into renewable energy within the United States. The acquisition of a 257 MWp solar park in Texas from a local investor not only underscores Ferrovial’s commitment to sustainable practices but also positions the company at the forefront of the renewable energy sector in the US market.

With an estimated value of EUR 66 million, this strategic move signifies Ferrovial’s proactive approach to diversifying its investment portfolio and embracing the transition towards cleaner energy sources. The solar park, poised to become the fifth largest in the US and the second largest in Texas upon operation, represents a substantial step towards enhancing energy sustainability and reducing carbon emissions in the region.

Uría Menéndez has advised the company on this transaction. The team, led by partners Juan Martín Perrotto (pictured left) and Martín Jordano (pictured right), was composed by Éanna Malone, a senior associate, and Alejandro Fuentes, a proficient associate.
