Pérez-Llorca expands its London office team with a partner and a counsel
Pérez-Llorca has expanded the team of its London office, led by Álvaro Ramírez de Haro, with the incorporation of a partner and a counsel from its Madrid office, specifically José Luis Romeu, corporate M&A partner, and Isabel Villa, counsel of Banking & Finance and expert in Debt Restructuring, who are already working at the firm’s headquarters in the Mayfair district of the British capital.
Romeu and Villa join the partners already established in London, Álvaro Ramírez de Haro and Ander Valverde, and with them make up a team of ten professionals from different practice areas and specialties such as Corporate, Private Equity, M&A, Banking & Finance and Restructuring.
This reinforcement of the British office of Pérez-Llorca responds to the impulse of the international strategy of Pérez-Llorca led by Iván Delgado as International Executive Partner. Pérez-Llorca now has 5 offices outside Spain. In addition to London, the Firm is present in New York, Brussels, Singapore and Lisbon, thus covering the three financial capitals of the world, the regulatory capital of Europe and the two capitals of the Iberian Peninsula, in addition to Barcelona.
José Luis Romeu
José Luis Romeu joined Pérez-Llorca in 2017 as a lawyer in the Corporate practice and was named partner in January 2024. Specializing in Corporate Law, his career has a strong international flavour as, in addition to holding an LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University, in 2019 and 2020 he was working in the Firm’s London office and is also a Solicitor of England and Wales. Since joining the firm, he has advised domestic and foreign clients on all types of commercial transactions and, in particular, on major M&A and private equity transactions, creation and dissolution of joint ventures and restructurings.
Isabel Villa
Isabel Villa joined Pérez-Llorca’s Banking & Finance team as Counsel in 2022 after developing her career in the Madrid office of an international firm. With a degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, she has extensive experience in structuring and executing different types of financial transactions, including corporate financings, leveraged buyout financings (LBO), real estate financings and debt refinancing and restructuring transactions.
Upgrade in London and NY officies
In addition, the Firm has recently completed the expansion and upgrading of its London and New York offices. “The objective of these expansions is to provide both locations with greater capacity and representation in order to accommodate more professionals and to reinforce the Firm’s international strategy,” the firm said in a statement.
In London, the firm has expanded its office by renting an additional floor of the building located at 17 Hill Street, in the Mayfair neighborhood, to which it moved in 2021 to be closer to where most of the international funds with which the firm works regularly are located.
In New York, the Firm has doubled the space it previously had in the iconic Seagram Building at 375 Park Avenue.
