DLA Piper appoints Pablo Echenique as M&A partner

DLA Piper has appointed Pablo Echenique (pictured) as Corporate / M&A partner. Echenique has been until now a partner at Cases & Lacambra, where he joined in 2019 and where he developed his work in Corporate and M&A, especially in the areas of energy and infrastructure.

He also worked at Abengoa for seven years as a senior lawyer in the group’s General Secretariat and as director of the legal department of Abengoa Projects Warehouse. He has also headed the legal department of Alfanar Energy and started his career at Uría Menéndez, where he worked as a senior associate in the commercial department.

In his more than twenty years of professional experience, he has participated in numerous commercial and financial transactions, focused on the energy, infrastructure and construction sectors, mainly in Europe, the United States and Latin America.

In addition to his professional career, he is also a lecturer. Since 2019, he has been a professor of Business Law at IE University. He holds a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Master’s degree in Corporate Legal Advisory Services (LLM) from the Instituto de Empresa (IE).
