ML’s Mozambican member firm becomes MDR Advogados
Morais Leitão’s network, Legal Circle, has seen its Mozambican member firm HRA become MDR Advogados
Following Tiago Arouca Mendes’ election as managing partner in July 2021, and fulfilling the local bar’s obligation, HRA is changing its name to MDR Advogados. It will now operate as the exclusive local office of the lusophone network of law firms of Morais Leitão’s Legal Circle.
ML’s presence in Mozambique was first established in 2012. In 2018, the Mozambican office of Legal Circle re-branded to become HRA, with Fabricia de Almeida Henriques as managing partner. The lawyer left the firm in July this year. The firm will now be called MDR Advogados – Mendes, Duarte Rocha & Associados, after its partners Tiago Arouca Mendes (pictured left) and Paula Duarte Rocha (pictured right). Despite this being the second change to ML’s Maputo based member firm of Legal Circle, Arouca Mendes and Duarte Rocha have both been a part of Morais Leitão’s project since its inception in 2012.
Tiago Arouca Mendes, managing partner of MDR Advogados, said: “Over the last nine years, we have worked and established strong ties with our clients, the result of our permanent dedication to following and understanding all the changes in the Mozambican market. We hope to continue to build lasting relationships of trust with our clients”.
