Anaford adds new partner from Uría Menéndez

Law firm Anaford Attorneys has hired Uría Menéndez principal associate, Álvaro Paniagua Rico, to reinforce its Valencian office Tax area as a partner

Álvaro (pictured) joins from Uría Menéndez, where he has been a principal associate of the Tax department since 2010 to this month.

He focuses his practice on Corporate Tax, Personal and Wealth Tax and non-resident Tax. He has extensive experience in the Tax planning of company Restructurings and business combinations, both domestic and international. He has been involved in diverse Corporate Restructuring, Real Estate Investment and Private Equity transactions.

Additionally, he frequently advises high net worth individuals and companies on their Tax planning, efficient remuneration schemes and is also engaged in tax litigation matters.

He holds an LLM in Tax from the Fundesem Business School, Alicante, Spain (2008), and an LLB. in Law and Business Administration, Alicante University, Alicante, Spain (2007). He is a Law and Business graduate from the Universitat d’Alacant, although he did one year at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

He is a member of the Valencia Bar Association, a member of the Tax Law Committee of the Valencia Bar Association since 2006 and a member of the Tax Committee of the Generalitat Valenciana since 2020.

As for his academic experience, he has been a lecturer on Real Estate Taxation on the Master’s degree in Access to the Legal Profession at Valencia University since 2016, a lecturer on Wealth Tax and Family Companies on the Taxation Master`s degree at the Fundesem Business School since 2020, and a lecturer on Business Operations and Taxation of the Family Companies on the Corporate Master`s degree at ISDE Law Business School since 2021. In addition, he is also a regular speaker at law seminars and conferences and the author of several articles.
