GA_P adds two lawyers to its Corporate and Commercial team
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has hired Claudia Barreiro Lafuente and Antonio Coveñas Román, reinforcing its Corporate and Commercial area
Both of the new hirings have joined the team led by Íñigo Erláiz Cotelo (pictured left), head of Corporate M&A and Private Equity, and secretary and member of the Board of Directors at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
Claudia Barreiro Lafuente (pictured top right) joins GA_P from KPMG España, where she worked as a Corporate/M&A and Finance (Energy) lawyer for more than two years advising any type of both national and international companies in Acquisitions and Sale and Purchase and Restructuring processes, coordination and advising on Due Diligence processes and Contractual Law.
There, she acquired wide experience in the field of Energy and renewable energies advising, amongst others, relevant funds, developers and investors in the development, management, Financing and sale of Energy production systems. She has been lately involved in Project finance transactions in the Energy and renewable energies sector as well as asset and infrastructure Finance transactions and Refinancing transactions.
Previously, she was at Evershed Sutherland, where she acquired experience covering all kinds of corporate and M&A transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (including both buy and sell-side), re-organisations, joint ventures, investment agreements, shareholders agreements and due diligence processes, as well as providing advice on commercial law, incorporation of any type of companies and on general day-to-day corporate matters.
She is a Law graduate from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and holds a Master´s degree in Legal consultancy specialising in International Business Law. She also has a course in US Business Law from Fordham University.
Antonio Coveñas Román (pictured bottom right) joins Gómez-Acebo & Pombo from Bird & Bird, where he has been working for the last four years, first as a trainee and later as a junior associate, both positions held in the Energy and Infrastructures department. He holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pablo Olavide, and he got his Master´s degree in Access to the Legal Profession from IE Business School.
