PM Spain launches Tax practice, adds partner from HSF

Pinsent Masons has hired Gonzalo Gil Suarez, who joins from Herbert Smith Freehills,  as a partner to lead the firm’s Tax Law practice in Spain

With extensive experience in strategic Tax Structuring, Gonzalo (pictured) joins from Herbert Smith Freehills’ Tax team in Madrid, where he was a senior associate, holding previous experience at KPMG, EY and Hogan Lovells. He has advised major sovereign wealth and Private Equity funds, financial institutions, investment banks and large companies on M&A transactions, investments and financings, particularly across the real estate, energy and healthcare sectors.

He is a Law graduate from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and holds an LLM in taxation from IE.

Gonzalo’s hire is another example of the firm’s continued focus on its expansion in Spain. In May, the firm welcomed Samuel González to lead its Employment practice, and in April, Miguel Nieto joined to focus on the Transport and Mobility area.
