HSF promotes new partner in Madrid

Herbert Smith Freehills has promoted senior associate Jaime de San Román to Banking Disputes and Restructuring & Insolvency partner in Madrid

Herbert Smith Freehills has announced today the promotion of 23 new partners to its global partnership. The promotions take effect on 1 May 2021. The new partners are based across the firm’s international network; in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and the UK. For the first time, partners have been promoted in the Milan and Johannesburg offices.Senior associate Jaime de San Román is the new HSF Madrid office partner in the Banking Disputes and Restructuring & Insolvency practice.

Jaime de San Román (pictured) joined Herbert Smith Freehills on September 2011 from Linklaters. He specialises in Banking Litigation and Insolvency Law. He also has wide experience in general Civil Litigation; in advising clients in sanctioning proceedings before regulatory bodies (CNMV and Bank of Spain); and in commercial and investment arbitration (SCC, ICC, CIADI and ICSID among others). He holds a Law degree from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE E-1) and is currently an adjunt professor at IE University.
