Banco de Investimento Global General Counsel joins Abreu Advogados

Abreu Advogados strengthens the banking and finance practice with the appointment as a partner of Banco de Investimento Global (BIG) general counsel Diogo Pereira Duarte.

The new partner’s expertise includes regulatory and governance advice to traditional banks and fintech companies, as well as advice related to financial intermediation and the distribution of insurance linked to investment funds. He also has expertise in the use of technology for the provision of financial services, including digital onboarding, innovation in payment services, trading platforms and the distribution of financial instruments. Other areas of specialism include “robo-advisory”, WealthTech and RegTech. Pereira also advises on the financing of financial sector start-ups through venture capital or other alternative forms of online financing, such as crowdfunding.
