Baker McKenzie appoints new Madrid managing partner

Baker McKenzie has appointed Rodrigo Ogea as managing partner of the Madrid Office to replace José María Alonso.

Ogea, who heads the firm’s tax practice in Madrid, will officially begin his role on 1 October 2017.

Ogea has led Baker McKenzie’s tax department in Madrid since 2008 and is a member of the steering committee of the firm’s European tax planning and transactions group.

Alonso was appointed managing partner of Baker McKenzie in Madrid on 1 July 2013. He will continue to lead the firm’s litigation and arbitration department in Spain. Alonso is standing as a candidate in the election for the role of dean of the Madrid Bar Association.
