Former IBA President Fernando Peláez-Pier joining KermaPartners
The former President of the International Bar Association (IBA) and Founding Partner of Hoet Peláez Castillo & Duque in Venezuela, Fernando Peláez-Pier, has announced that he is joining the global management consultancy KermaPartners as a Special Adviser.
Pelaez-Pier is a prominent member of the global legal profession. In recognition for his long association with the IBA, and his 40-years in legal practice, he has been awarded Lifetime Achievement Awards from both Chambers and Latin Lawyer magazine.
At KermaPartners, Peláez-Pier will be assisting law firms on management issues including strategy, governance and remuneration. While his scope is global, it is likely that he will be most closely involved across the Spanish-speaking world.
In January 2013, KermaPartners opened an office in Madrid, led by Moray McLaren the co-founder and former Director of Iberian Legal Group – the publishers of Iberian Lawyer. Their Latin American team is based primarily in Mexico, working throughout the region. In addition, they also have offices in London, Milan, Munich, New York, Singapore and Zurich.
Fernando will continue on a part-time basis as a retired partner at Hoet Peláez Castillo & Duque, mentoring new partners within the corporate and IP departments.
