Women in a Legal World celebrates the sixth edition of its awards

Women in a Legal World celebrated the sixth edition of its awards at a ceremony that brought together leading figures from the legal, institutional and diplomatic spheres at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid. The gala has once again established itself as a landmark event for highlighting female leadership and commitment to equality in the legal sector.

The event was sponsored by Mutualidad, Santander, vLex, Legora, Iberian Lawyer and Financecommunity.es, entities that supported an edition marked by the recognition of the talent, career and professional contribution of the award winners. During the ceremony, the role of women and men who, in their various positions of responsibility, contribute to modernisation, excellence and equality in the legal field and in public and private institutions was highlighted.

In this sixth edition, the Women in a Legal World awards honoured:

• Award: Values Award
Awardee: Princess of Girona Foundation

• Award: Sustainable Justice Award
Awardee: Inter-American Court of Human Rights

• Award: Woman of the Year Award
Awardee: Stephanie Case, lawyer, human rights activist and founder of the organisation Free to Run.

• Award: Honorary Award
Awardee: Encarnación Roca Trías, emeritus jurist of the Constitutional Court and pioneer of civil and family law.

• Award: Equality Award
Awardee: Richard Gere Foundation

The jury included Clara Cerdán Molina, Vice President of WLW; Luis María Cazorla Prieto, President of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Spain; Marlen Estévez, President of WLW; Salvador González Martín, President of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers; Concepción Pilar Barrio del Olmo, President of the General Council of Notaries; Alicia Muñoz Lombardia, Deputy Secretary of the Board of Santander Spain and Director of the Commercial Banking, Governance and Regulation Department; José Manuel Albares Bueno, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation; María Isabel Perelló Doménech, President of the General Council of the Judiciary and President of the Supreme Court of Spain; Pilar Alegría Continente, Minister of Education and Vocational Training of Spain; Pedro Rollán Ojeda, President of the Senate of Spain; María Emilia Adán, Dean of the Registrars of Spain; and Enrique Sanz Fernández-Lomana, President of the Mutualidad Group.
