WFW advises Stonepeak on renewables partnership with Solaria
Watson Farley & Williams has advised US investment firm Stonepeak on its entry into the European renewables market through the acquisition of a stake in Generia Land, a Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente’s land acquisition platform for green energy projects. The deal kicks off a partnership with Solaria to secure sites for over 4 GW of renewable capacity, part of the Spanish company’s wider target of developing 18 GW by 2030.
US-based Stonepeak is an independent infrastructure manager investing in energy transition infrastructure projects around the world. Its renewables portfolio includes utility-scale solar, wind and battery storage assets across key markets in North America, Asia and Europe.
Generia is dedicated to sourcing, acquiring and leasing land in Europe for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind and battery storage. Founded in Madrid in 2002, Solaria is a developer and generator of photovoltaic energy across southern Europe.
