WFW acts for banking syndicate on Grupo Forus refinancing
Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) advised a syndicate of banks led by Bankia on the €50m refinancing of Grupo Forus, which manages municipal sport facilities in Madrid, Segovia, Valencia, Alicante and Las Palmas.
A statement said the refinancing will enable Forus to implement a five-year expansion plan.
The transaction was structured and led by Bankia, with Ibercaja Banco, Banco Cooperativo Español, Banco de Sabadell, Banco Mare Nostum, Banco de Caja de España de Inversiones, and Salamanca y Soria also members of the syndicate.
The WFW team advising on the transaction was led by partner Rodrigo Berasategui, who heads the firm’s Madrid banking & finance group. The team also included senior associate Jose María Anarte and associate Juan Vicente Barquilla.
