Watson Farley & Williams acts for bank syndicate on solar power plants debt optimisation

Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) advised a syndicate of banks led by Banco Sabadell in relation to the optimisation of the capital structure of the solar power plants Andasol 1 and Andasol 2 located in Guadix, Granada.

 

The work involved the restructuring of tranches of debt as well as changes to amortization schedules.

In addition to Banco Sabadell, the two power plants are also financed by the European Investment Bank, the Instituto de Crédito Oficial, Dexia Sabadell, Unipersonal, Catalunya Banc, Unicaja Banco, as well as international financial institutions including Bayerische Landesbank, Landesbank Hessen Thüringen Girozentrale, BNP Paribas Fortis, Portigon, and Dexia Crédit Local (Dublin Branch).

The WFW team in Madrid was led by partner Rodrigo Berasategui, and included senior associate José María Anarte and associate Juan Vicente Barquilla.
