Verónica Cuétara, new HR director at A&O Shearman Spain

A&O Shearman has appointed Verónica Cuétara as the new human resources director of the firm in Spain. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading the people strategy with a particular focus on attracting, developing, and retaining talent, as well as on culture, training, and wellbeing initiatives, within an organization of over 120 lawyers and a total team of 200 professionals, states the law firm

With extensive experience in talent management in high-performance professional environments, Cuétara joined the firm in October 2021 and since then has focused on strengthening its employee value proposition and consolidating the firm’s culture. A graduate in Business Administration and Management from the Complutense University of Madrid and holder of a master’s in Tax Law from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues, Cuétara began her career in Deloitte’s tax department. Four years later, she shifted her career path towards human resources within the same firm.

Verónica Cuétara notes that she takes on this challenge “with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility.” In this regard, she is committed to “continuing to drive initiatives that strengthen all areas of talent in an integrated way, aligned with the firm’s strategic priorities.”
