Vaciero bolsters sports law with two new hires

Vaciero has brought in Alfredo Olivares and Elvira Andrés to reinforce its sports law practice.

Alfredo Olivares will lead the sports law area. A Madrid-registered lawyer with an MBA in Sports Entity Management, he brings over 20 years of experience in sports law and governance at major institutions. His career includes senior roles at the Spanish Basketball Federation and the Royal Spanish Football Federation, as well as participation in various international committees of FIBA Europe and UEFA. His areas of expertise span regulation, sports discipline, federal electoral processes, governance, and strategic advisory.

Elvira Andrés joins as of counsel, focusing on governance, compliance, and sports integrity. A law graduate, she has held senior positions at the National Futsal League, the Spanish Basketball Federation, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation. At the international level, she has been a member of UEFA’s Governance and Compliance Committee and the FIBA Europe Appeals Commission.

Together, the two appointments strengthen Vaciero’s capacity to advise clubs, federations, leagues, operators, and investors across areas including sports regulation and discipline, governance, compliance, corporate transactions, and restructurings within the sports ecosystem.
