Uría Menéndez and Slaughter and May act for Santander on asset management unit deal
Uría Menéndez and Slaughter and May advised Banco Santander on its reacquisition a 50 percent stake in its asset management unit from US funds Warburg Pincus and General Atlantic.
The deal, for an undisclosed amount, gives Santander full control of Santander Asset Management, which has €170 billion of assets under management.
Warburg Pincus has $40 billion of assets under management, while General Atlantic manages assets totalling $19.6 billion.
Warburg Pincus and General Atlantic were advised by Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton on the deal, according to Mergermarket.
