Uría Menéndez and Cuatrecasas instructed on Domecq deal

Uría Menéndez advised Grupo Emperador subsidiary Bodega Las Copas on the acquisition of brandy and wine producer Domecq from Pernod Ricard.

Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira acted for Pernod Ricard on the transaction.

Bodega Las Copas is a 50/50 joint venture owned by Grupo Emperador Spain and González Byass.

The transaction includes the portfolio of Mexican brandies Don Pedro, Presidente and Azteca de Oro as well as a winery producing Mexican wines in Ensenada.

The closing of the transaction is subject to clearance by the Mexican Anti-Trust authorities, and is expected to take place before the end of the financial year 2016/2017.

Bodega Las Copas was also advised by Galicia Abogados on the deal.
