Three Roca Junyent partners leave for Montero Aramburu

Three Roca Junyent partners have left the firm to join Sevilla-headquartered law firm Montero Aramburu.

The three Roca Junyent partners – Isidro del Saz (pictured), José Antonio Cahadía and María Martínez-Avial – will join Montero Aramburu’s Madrid office.

The three partners are part of an 11-strong Roca Junyent team that will make the move and consequently double the size of Montero Aramburu’s operation in Madrid.

The firm has moved into new offices in Madrid in Ayala Street.

Isidro del Saz, who was a partner at Roca Junyent for 17 years, specialises in tax law. Meanwhile, José Antonio Cahadía is a specialist in civil law, insolvency and real estate, while María Martínez-Avial focuses on employment law.

Montero Aramburu’s Madrid office will continue to be headed by partner Ricardo Astorga Morano.

Montero Aramburu has six offices, which are located in Madrid, Sevilla, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran Canarias, Huelva and Córdoba.

The firm has 150 professionals, including 15 partners – its 2017 turnover stood at 14.5 million.

A firm statement said: “For some time, the firm had been looking at Madrid, where we opened a small office in 2014, as a key location for the expansion of the firm. We were aware that only with a broad, strong and competitive team in Madrid could we fulfill the objective of placing our firm as one of the leading national law firms. We are convinced that, with the addition of this magnificent team of experienced attorneys, we will achieve our purpose. “
