TELLES strengthens Corporate/M&A area

TELLES has reinforced its team with the integration of Nuno Marques as of counsel, in the Commercial, Corporate and M&A practice. The lawyer joins the team led by Carlos Lucena and Francisco Espregueira Mendes.

With 13 years of professional experience, Nuno Marques has developed his expertise in privatisations, corporate reorganisations, private equity and commercial contracts. The lawyer has been involved in complex national and cross-border transactions in several industry sectors, namely energy, infrastructures and transport.

According to Miguel Torres, TELLES’ managing partner, “the invitation to Nuno Marques to join the TELLES team was very easy, as Nuno has personal and professional qualities that are similar to those we pursue. On the other hand, we are sure that Nuno’s professional background and seniority will be an added value for TELLES’ clients, who are looking for quality, innovation, responsiveness to new challenges and efficiency.”

For the co-head of the commercial, corporate and M&A area of TELLES, Francisco Espregueira Mendes, “this reinforcement is a reflection of the growth we are experiencing in this area and the integration of Nuno in our commercial, corporate and M&A team reinforces our capacity to respond to our clients in order to ensure the high levels of demand that distinguish us, focused on adding value to the client’s activities. We are thrilled to have him with us.”

According to Nuno Marques, “TELLES is an unavoidable presence in the legal profession in Portugal. I have been following their solid investment in their growth and consolidation and the great talent they have been attracting for a long time. It was therefore an honour to receive the proposal from TELLES to incorporate their Corporate M&A practice, which is a reference in the market. It is with great enthusiasm that I start this new challenge, and that I complement the excellent team where I have joined and where I already feel at home. I intend to strengthen the team with my experience and be an asset to our clients.”

Nuno Marques holds a post-graduate degree in European Competition Law from King’s College of London and in Public Procurement from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He holds a degree in Law from the NOVA University of Lisbon.  Before joining TELLES, he was a lawyer at PLMJ and Cuatrecasas.
