Comment
Commenting on his appointment, Rebelo de Sousa said: “I would like to thank Dr. Nuno Amado and Dr. Miguel Maya for the confidence they have placed in me by appointing me President of the Millennium bcp Foundation. I accept this appointment with great honour and a profound sense of responsibility. I would also like to express my sincere admiration and deepest appreciation to ambassador António Monteiro for the outstanding work he has carried out over the past years. His dedication and vision have been instrumental in strengthening the Foundation and provide a solid basis for its future. I take on this role with a strong sense of continuity, while also aspiring to help the Millennium BCP Foundation further expand its impact and strengthen its connection with Portuguese society, remaining faithful to the values upon which it was founded. This new responsibility is fully compatible with my role at SRS Legal, the firm I founded more than three decades ago and to which I remain deeply committed.”
Established by Banco Comercial Português, the Millennium bcp Foundation is a public utility institution that has promoted initiatives in culture, the arts, heritage preservation, knowledge and social solidarity for more than 30 years, supporting cultural, heritage and social-impact projects.
