SRS Legal strengthens tax team leadership
SRS Legal has reorganised its Tax Department, appointing Francisco Castro Guedes and Salomé Corte-Real as co-heads of the practice and bringing in Isabel Miranda Alves as an associate in the firm’s Porto office.
The move forms part of a broader effort by the Portuguese firm to expand its Northern Portugal presence alongside the arrival of nine trainee lawyers under its 2026 Professional Traineeship Programme, states SRS Legal.
New tax leadership structure
The restructuring of the Tax Department reflects SRS Legal’s focus on an area it considers “strategically important for clients, combining the experience of its two co-heads with team growth and a deeper footprint in the north of the country”.
Isabel Miranda Alves joins the firm with 13 years of experience in tax law, having built her career at national and international consulting and law firms, with particular focus on Corporate Income Tax and corporate taxation. She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto and attended the Master’s programme in Auditing and Taxation at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
Trainee programme intake
The firm’s broader team expansion also extends to its newest generation of lawyers. As part of the 2026 Professional Traineeship Programme, nine trainee lawyers have joined SRS Legal across different practice areas in the Lisbon and Porto offices: Camila Figueiredo Amaral and Francisco Silva Nunes joined the Dispute Resolution team, Francisco Guerreiro Gomes joined Real Estate, Gonçalo Avelar Henriques joined Corporate & Finance, Joana Mendes de Sousa joined Employment & Social Security, João Pedro Fragoso joined Projects, Marcelo Carneiro Rocha joined the Porto office, Pedro Barreto joined Administrative & Environmental Law, and Margarida Porto Gouveia joined Criminal & Sanctions Law.
Managing partners’ comment
“This is a particularly significant moment in SRS Legal’s growth. We want to continue growing sustainably, strengthening our capabilities, bringing our teams closer together and creating the conditions for different generations of lawyers to develop their careers with us. The strengthening of the Tax Department and the integration of trainee lawyers represent two complementary dimensions of this project: deepening SRS Legal’s expertise and ability to respond to our clients’ needs, while continuing to invest in talent and in the future of the firm, with an increasingly integrated presence across Lisbon and Porto”, said César Sá Esteves and Octávio Castelo Paulo, Managing Partners of SRS Legal.
