SRS Advogados advises HSBC on €317m oil platform financing

SRS Advogados advised HSBC Bank USA on the $317m financing of two oil drilling platforms for Mexican company Grupo R.

The drilling platforms will be constructed by the Singapore-based Keppel Fels Group.

SRS partner William Smithson led the legal team, which also included managing associate Gonçalo Reis Martins.

“This was a hugely complex transaction involving a large team at SRS,” said Smithson.

“The transaction threw up many complex issues and took 18 months to complete and involved nine jurisdictions. Accordingly, it was hugely satisfying to complete the deal.”
