SPB grabs B&F team from Roca Junyent in Madrid, including head partner
Squire Patton Boggs has strengthened its Banking & Finance practice with the hiring of Roca & Junyent Madrid’s Finance team led by Pablo Rodríguez
Squire Patton Boggs has signed Pablo Rodríguez Abelenda, together with Ana Bohórquez and Diego de Egea, the Finance team of Roca & Junyent Madrid. This integration expands Squire Patton Boggs’ existing team, led by Manuel Mingot.
Rodríguez Abelenda is one of the leading Structured Finance specialists in the market. He regularly advises banks, debt funds and listed companies on Corporate Finance, LBOs, Real Estate and Project Finance, distressed transactions and, in general, Banking advisory, an area in which he has been involved in several of the most relevant transactions in the market in recent years. Until now, he headed the Banking and Finance practice at Roca Junyent in Madrid, where he was also a member of the Board of Directors. Previously, he had practised, both in the UK and in Spain, at Allen & Overy, Cuatrecasas and Broseta.
He stands out for his pro-bono activity, having been an active member of the Board of Trustees of the Fundación Pro-Bono España, in which he was a representative of one of the founding trustees. He is a Law graduate from the Universidad de Castellón, and completed his PhD and complementary studies at the Universidad de Valencia and the London School of Economics.
He joins along with of counsel Ana Bohórquez, also specialised in Banking and Finance, with more than 30 years of professional experience in the sector, in addition to the rest of the Banking and Finance team. Ana stands out in the market for being dual-qualified in Spanish and German Law, having advised on numerous transactions in Germany or with German clients.
Diego de Egea, a Law graduate from ICADE, worked at Telefónica before joining Roca Junyent. Diego specialises in Debt Refinancing.
This addition reinforces Squire Patton Boggs’ commitment to the Banking and Finance practice and will join the existing team led by Manuel Mingot together with Tom Cerdan, who leads our English Banking & Finance practice.
