Sharon Izaguirre, partner and director of Andersen’s Bilbao office

Andersen has recruited Sharon Izaguirre, formerly of Deloitte Legal, as a new commercial law partner and head of that practice in northern Spain, as well as director of the Bilbao office, which opened at the end of 2024.

According to José Vicente Morote, Managing Partner of Andersen Iberia, ‘the addition of Sharon Izaguirre allows us to strengthen a department as strategic as M&A with a professional of recognised prestige,’ adding that ‘we are convinced that, with her leadership, we will boost our presence in the northern region and meet the objectives we have set for ourselves there.’

Throughout her more than 25 years of experience, Izaguirre has advised large business groups and investment funds on corporate restructuring and corporate strategy. In the field of management, she stands out for her solid experience in team leadership and talent attraction. She also has extensive knowledge of the business environment, backed by her experience as secretary to various boards of directors. She is also a Solicitor of England & Wales through the British College of Law and combines her professional activity with teaching at the University of Deusto and the Carlos III University of Madrid.

The new partner comes from Deloitte Legal, a firm she joined in 2011, where she has been a commercial partner since 2014. She has also worked at other firms such as Araoz & Rueda, PwC, and DLA Piper.

The lawyer has a degree in Law and a Diploma in Economics from the University of Deusto, which she completed with a Master’s Degree in Business Legal Advice from the Instituto de Empresa (IE).
