Sérvulo advises on Busway operation

Sérvulo & Associados has advised the Intermunicipal Community of the Region of Aveiro (CIRA) on the preparation, launch and processing of the public tender for the conclusion of a public road transport service concession contract, which culminated in the signing of the contract with the concessionaire Busway and with the approval of the Court of Auditors for the contract issued in May 2023.

The team from Sérvulo advising on this deal was formed by Ana Luísa Guimarães, partner of the Public Law Department, and associate Afonso Carvalho.

Busway belongs to the company Nateev Express, of the Israeli group Afifi, and the concession at CIRA is the first business of the Israeli group in the public transport sector in Portugal. The new concessionaire will start operating the public transport service in the Region, as of August 1st, an operation that will continue for at least 5 years.

CIRA will pay around 1.2 million euros per year to Busway as compensation for public service obligations.
