Ruiz Gallardón appoints María Pérez Guerrero as Tax Partner

Ruiz Gallardón Abogados has appointed María Pérez Guerrero as head partner of its tax department, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to this strategic practice under the leadership of president Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón.

Pérez Guerrero, who joined the firm in 2023 as of counsel, brings more than 25 years of professional experience to her new role leading the tax practice.

A graduate in Business Administration from the University of Huelva with a Master’s in Corporate Tax Advisory from Instituto de Estudios Cajasol, she began her career at PwC in 1999, focusing on private wealth and family business matters in both Seville and Madrid.

In 2010, she joined Abengoa as in-house counsel, where she spent 12 years coordinating international subsidiaries’ tax affairs and playing a key role in the company’s complex restructuring processes.

In addition to her professional career, Pérez Guerrero is Cescom-certified by the Spanish Compliance Association (Ascom) and has extensive academic experience as a lecturer at leading institutions such as IE Business School, San Pablo CEU, the Complutense University of Madrid, and APD (Asociación para el Progreso de la Dirección).
