Roca Junyent has become the Spanish member firm of UK-based Nabarro’s European Alliance. A slot that has remained vacant since the collapse of Madrid and Barcelona-based Rodés & Sala in 2009.
In joining the Alliance, Roca Junyent will also operate alongside France’s August & Debouzy, Germany’s GSK Stockmann + Kollegen and Italian firm Nunziante Magrone. Collectively the five firms now comprise over 960 lawyers based in 23 offices across nine jurisdictions in Europe, Morocco, Singapore and China.
Roca Junyent, led by Managing Partner Joan Roca, currently counts around 66 partners and 250 professionals. The firm has five offices across Spain and was the first Spanish firm to open in China, in 2002.
The Shanghai outpost was a particular attraction for Nabarro, complementing that firm’s own Singapore office according to International Partner Michael Hales.
The Alliance was formalised in 2008 and operates on an exclusive basis in those countries in which it has members with firms working together on joint pitches, coordinating aspects of their marketing, communications and training.
