Rita Vasconcelos is the new president of APDE
Rita Leandro Vasconcelos (pictured), partner at Pérez-Llorca, has been appointed president of the Portuguese Association of European Law (APDE) for the 2024-2026 term. Rita Leandro Vasconcelos succeeds Carlos Botelho Moniz, partner at Morais Leitão, who was elected president of the Scientific Council, succeeding Ruy Chancerelle de Machete.
“What a great honour to share that I have been elected president of APDE in the year it celebrates its 40th anniversary. I take on this responsibility with dedication and enthusiasm, endeavouring to continue strengthening APDE’s contribution to the promotion and dissemination of European law in Portugal,” writes the new president on her social media.
APDE’s new executive team
For 40 years since its founding, APDE’s goal has been to contribute to the dissemination of European Law in Portugal. Leading APDE for this term are also vice-presidents Miguel Gorjão-Henriques and Margarida Rosado da Fonseca; secretary-general Pedro Gouveia e Melo; and board members Inês Quadros and Rita Aleixo Gregorio. At the APDE general assembly on June 24, 2024, a vote of praise was also approved for the board of directors who served the 2021-2023 term.
