Ricardo Codeço, new partner at Pragma Advogados

Pragma Advogados has hired Ricardo Codeço as partner and head of the tax law practice. He joins from JPAB – José Pedro Aguiar-Branco Associados.

With more than a decade of experience, Ricardo Codeço has built a career focused on tax law, advising national and international clients on complex matters. His practice focuses on tax and customs litigation, as well as strategic tax advisory work, supporting structuring operations such as corporate reorganisations, real estate investment and the design of efficient tax models for corporate groups.

Throughout his career, he managed tax disputes and represented clients in administrative, judicial and arbitral proceedings, including tax audits, administrative offence proceedings and disputes across several areas of taxation, with a particular focus on international taxation and European Union law.

He holds a master’s degree in law from Universidade Portucalense and a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. He has complemented his academic background with a postgraduate qualification in taxation from ISAG and several advanced programmes at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in the areas of international tax planning, tax procedure, accounting and fintech.

Ricardo Codeço has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2013 and is also a member of the Portuguese Tax Association (AFP) and the International Fiscal Association (IFA). He is a regular speaker at tax-related events and the author of specialised legal publications.
