RC Law lands in Madrid
RC Law, a law firm specializing in corporate law, M&A, private equity, venture capital and financial transactions, opens offices in Madrid, led by Ignacio C. Furfaro, with the support of Luis Basavilbaso. The firm also has offices in Miami, New York, and Houston.
Xavier Ruiz, founding partner of RC Law, explains that the firm’s objective is to focus its activity in Europe on the middle-market: “Usually, firms coming from the United States are focused on capital markets and high-end. The middle-market, however, represents most of the flow of legal work from Spain to the United States. The objective of opening the new offices is not to open a new market, since more than 80% of our clients are Spanish: listed companies, banks, family offices…the objective is to offer, in the same time slot, better service to our clients, among which are companies such as CaixaBank, Porcelanosa, Acciona, Grupo Hotusa, ACS, Telefónica, Grupo Planeta, Wallbox, Cantabria Labs, UNIR, Puig, Insudpharma, Eulen or Desigual”.
Ignacio C. Furfaro
A member of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), Ignacio C. Furfaro, of Argentine origin, has practiced law in New York, Rome, and Buenos Aires, with firms such as Debevoise & Plimpton and Beccar Varela, and is fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian.
Furfaro, who heads the new Madrid office, located at Calle Velázquez 34, adds that the team is highly specialized in venture capital: “As lawyers who practice exclusively US law in Spain, our experience working in the US gives Spanish clients all the knowledge they need to embark on venture capital in this country”.
Luis Basavilbaso
Luis Basavilbaso has practiced in firms such as Greenberg Traurig and Marval O’Farrell & Mairal, both in Argentina and the United States. Both lawyers specialize in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital.
