RC Law expands in Spain with new Barcelona office
One year after opening its Madrid office, RC Law has announced the launch of a new office in Barcelona, located at Avda. Diagonal 640. As with Madrid, the purpose of the Barcelona office is to provide U.S. legal advice to local companies and law firms, with a particular focus on U.S. tax law.
The Barcelona office will initially be staffed by two U.S.-trained attorneys working in full integration with the Madrid team. It will be led by U.S. tax advisor María Martínez, a Barcelona native, law graduate from ESADE Law School and LL.M. graduate from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. Licensed to practice in both Spain and New York, Martínez has more than 20 years of professional experience, including roles at EY and Baker McKenzie, as well as at the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where she led the Treaty Assistance and Interpretation Team within the Treaty and Transfer Pricing Operations division.
Founded in 2017 in New York by Xavier Ruiz, also originally from Barcelona, RC Law is a boutique firm with offices in New York, Miami, Houston, Madrid, and now Barcelona. The firm has built a strong transactional practice and is consistently ranked among the leading firms in Corporate, M&A, and Private Equity law in Florida, where its headquarters are located. RC Law exclusively practices U.S. law across all its offices and teams.
“Barcelona is a unique market where many of our clients are based, and therefore it is essential to our strategy of bringing U.S. legal services closer to them,” explains Xavier Ruiz.
For her part, Martínez adds: “I am very excited about the opportunity to continue my career as a U.S. tax advisor in Spain while leading our new Barcelona office. We are confident that local clients will appreciate receiving advice on complex U.S. tax matters without the inconvenience of time-zone differences.”
