Ramón y Cajal welcomes Aurelio del Pino, former managing director of ACES

Ramón y Cajal Abogados strengthens its Agri-Food practice with the addition of Aurelio del Pino as of counsel. The department, co-headed by Javier Salinas and José Ignacio Vega, thus adds the former managing director and president of the Spanish Supermarket Chain Association (ACES).

Aurelio del Pino

A career civil servant, currently on leave of absence, he joined the Senior Corps of Civil Administrators of the State in 1990. Since then, he has held multiple positions of responsibility in both the public and private sectors.

In the private sector, he has served as CEO of ACES for the last 18 years and will be its president from 2014 to 2025. In this capacity, Del Pino has been a member of the Board of Directors of the CEOE and of the main regional employers’ associations and numerous institutions and advisory bodies of the State Administration and the Regional Administration.

With regard to his professional career in the public administration, among other positions, Del Pino held the position of Deputy Director General of Internal Trade between 2001 and 2007, participating in working groups of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, in the preparation of studies and reports and regulatory proposals on matters affecting internal trade.

Aurelio del Pino states that ‘in the current scenario, production, food and consumer goods companies face great regulatory complexity in an increasingly interrelated value chain. Supporting operators in regulatory compliance requires not only ever greater specialisation, but also a multidisciplinary vision, to which I believe I will be able to contribute.’
