Ramón y Cajal advises on the sale to Siemens of a 20,000 m² plot of land

Ramón y Cajal Abogados has advised Colonial on the sale to Siemens of a 20,000 m² plot of land for the development of its new headquarters in Spain.

The president and CEO of Siemens AG, Roland Busch, visiting Spain, announced that the company will strengthen its commitment to the country through the investment of 160 million euros for the creation of a new intelligent campus in the Las Tablas area, in the north of Madrid, which will house the new headquarters of the company in Spain.

This new headquarters, which will be located close to the future axis of Madrid Nuevo Norte, will become a benchmark in the city as a smart, digital and carbon-neutral building and infrastructure.in the words of the CEO of Siemens AG, “the new ‘Siemens Smart Campus’ will meet the highest ESG (Environmental Social & Governance) standards, in line with the company’s strategic commitment to become an emission-neutral company by 2030. It will also be a new symbol in the city, reflecting the company’s identity and values”.

Siemens currently employs around 3,700 people in Spain, distributed between different regional headquarters and the current headquarters in Tres Cantos, Madrid. The new complex will offer a flexible, inclusive working environment, accessible by different modes of public transport and adapted to the new demands of the workplace, which will help to retain and attract new talent, a strategic objective for the company.

The transaction has been led by partners in real estate and urbanism Miguel Ferre Puy and Francisco Bengoetxea Arrieta and lawyers Marta Santos García-Sintas and Ane Basterretxea have also been involved.
