PwC Tax & Legal unveils Springboard Startup winners

PwC Tax & Legal, the law and tax advisory arm of PwC Spain, has unveiled the three startups selected for the third edition of its Legal & Tax Tech Springboard acceleration program, developed in collaboration with Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub. The chosen startups — Maska, Kuorum, and Cuotalis — stood out for their disruptive approaches and transformative potential in the legal and tax sectors.

The selected startups—Maska, Kuorum, and Cuotalis—are introducing innovative technological solutions aimed at transforming the legal and fiscal landscape. Maska is an AI-powered platform that facilitates the identification, management, and measurement of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, helping companies detect risks and make data-driven decisions. Kuorum offers a comprehensive digital voting system that supports both real-time and asynchronous participation, with features such as census management, access control, quorum calculation, and secure voting—particularly valuable for corporate and institutional settings. Meanwhile, Cuotalis has developed a platform designed to automate debt collection and financial administration for homeowner associations, streamlining operations and minimizing payment management errors.

Empowering Innovation through Collaboration

The selected startups were presented on July 10 at PwC’s headquarters in Madrid during a dedicated event celebrating the third edition of the Legal & Tax Tech Springboard. The initiative, jointly led by PwC Tax & Legal and Microsoft, aims to accelerate the growth of high-potential legal and tax tech startups by offering expert legal and fiscal guidance, access to technological resources, and business development opportunities within PwC’s client ecosystem.

During the event, representatives from PwC, Microsoft, and the selected startups discussed the impact of the program and the broader opportunities for innovation in the legal and tax sectors.

“The three selected startups demonstrate an outstanding level of quality,” said Joaquín Latorre, Managing Partner of PwC Tax & Legal Spain. “Our goal is to help them grow and connect with our clients.”

Josef Tylli, Global ISV Sales at Microsoft, introduced the startups to the benefits of the Microsoft for Startups 2.0 program, which includes cloud technology access, technical support, training, and a global network to support the scaling of innovative projects.

Jaime García López (pictured), Partner at NewLaw and leader of the initiative, together with Alberto Tornero, Partner in High-Growth Companies at PwC Tax & Legal, emphasized the importance of the Springboard program as a platform to identify and support startups that bring disruptive, future-ready solutions to the legal and tax industries.

The Legal & Tax Tech Springboard initiative highlights PwC and Microsoft’s shared commitment to fostering digital transformation in the professional services sector. By bridging the gap between emerging technology and established industry needs, the program strengthens the ecosystem of legal and tax innovation in Spain and beyond.
